“Our Vision is Just Our Own Ability to Walk In The World & Say Thank You”

-Darren Silver

Recently Residents at the Center for Mindful Learning undertook a Lakota Sioux vision quest. “Crying out for vision”, the crew, lead by native guide Darren Silver journeyed into the woods of Mount Mansfield.

Countless drum beats, hundreds of prayer ties, two sweat lodges, and one 48-hour quest (with no food or water!) later, the modern monks returned with newfound insight and connection to nature.

Darren teaches that the vision quest is a gift to life on earth, so the residents aren’t going to share the details of their journeys. However, if you want to know more, come eat lunch with at CML in Johnson, VT and see the wisdom of the four directions in their eyes.
